The underground art space OFF℃ recently opened in a basement space located in a corner of the Seokyo- dong district on June 13th. It is the offline space for the Underground Art Channel, an online network for experimental media artists running since 2005. Beginning with Jino Park’s solo exhibition, who recently had a solo exhibition of drawings and installations at Gallery HUT from June 17th to 21st,
OFF℃ is preparing for various experimental art communication projects, including “Red Video Archive,” a video rental system which offers more than 70 video works by local and foreign artists, “The Fallen Angels,” and “Box Project,” as well as many other art programs directed by its own programmers, such as “The Manual,” “Alice On/Off the Record,” and “Film Installation & Performance Workshop.”
Around the opening on June 13th, there was “Boochoolaamaa,” “Master Musik,” “Imperfect Ring” performance, 00LP’s “Wall Painting” performance, “Red Video Archive,” and a screening program participated in by 6 artists.
There was also a live streaming program that broadcasted the 3-day events through their website. Using their know-how from last 3 years, it is expected that OFF℃ will become an art community for experimental artists.
